IMPACT Magazine is the Wisconsin Park & Recreation Association’s quarterly magazine, available digitally to all WPRA members. Each year, two of the four issues will be distributed via mail to Emeritus, Individual Professional, Commercial Contact, University Contact, and Key Contact Premier members. All other membership categories receive digital access. Each digital quarterly edition is distributed to all members via email when published.

Content Submission Deadlines

  • Q1: Winter 2027: December 1, 2026
  • Q2: Spring 2027: March 1, 2027
  • Q3: Summer 2027: June 1, 2027
  • Q4: Fall 2026: September 1, 2027

Editorial Guidelines

IMPACT welcomes submissions from WPRA members and non-members who have a story to share, practical experience to highlight, or “how-to” information that can benefit Wisconsin’s park and recreation professionals.

The magazine’s primary editorial focus is education. Priority is given to submissions that provide useful information, share best practices, or help professionals learn something new.

All submissions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and accepted based on available space, relevance, and appropriateness of the content.

Submissions will not be considered if they:
  • Are primarily commercial in nature. (Advertising opportunities are available separately.)
  • Include inappropriate humor or coarse language.
  • Promote a specific department’s fundraising initiatives.
  • Have limited relevance or appeal to the broader park and recreation profession.
All submissions may be edited for content, clarity, style, and length at the sole discretion of the magazine editor.
Due to space limitations, not all submissions can be published, even when they meet the editorial guidelines.
