Job Description
Do you have experience leading maintenance operations, coordinating crews, and keeping public facilities and spaces safe, functional, and well-maintained? The City of Oshkosh is seeking a Public Works Operations Supervisor – Buildings and Grounds to oversee the daily work that supports City buildings, parks, and public spaces.This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operations leader who enjoys staff supervision, facilities oversight, problem-solving, and public service.
In this role, you will:
- Lead daily Buildings and Grounds operations by planning work, assigning staff and equipment, and overseeing maintenance activities across City facilities and parks.
- Supervise, train, coach, and support division staff, while assisting with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and timekeeping.
- Coordinate parks and facility maintenance, including preventive maintenance, repairs, custodial support, and seasonal operations.
- Respond to operational and emergency maintenance issues and help maintain service continuity.
- Monitor building systems, vendor services, work orders, inventory, purchasing, and other operational support functions.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s Degree in Facilities Management, Building Construction Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance operations. Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Salary/Salary Range $77,334.40 to $88,379.20, depending on qualifications.
