Community Education Program Assistant

Job Description 

Sauk Prairie School District is in search for a Community Education Program Assistant to support the daily operations of the Community Education department. This position will help ensure high-quality lifelong learning and enrichment programs, classes, and services for participants of all ages. The position will also assist with program development and logistics while providing exceptional customer service and smooth communication between staff, instructors, patrons, and our community partners. Strong organization skills and attention to detail are important requirements for this role.

Essential Functions 

  • Assist the director in the management of community education, special events and senior programming
  • Assist the director in administration of facilities scheduling program including serving as a resource for outside groups and coordinating building access
  • Manage Community Center rentals including scheduling, communication and invoicing
  • Manage and maintain Community Education website including news, calendars and webpages
  • Create and distribute newsletters, brochures, etc., that inform the public of community education and senior opportunities
  • Help plan, create, and execute new programs, coordinating with local organizations when applicable
  • Financial administration including payment processing, invoicing, purchasing, reconciliations, deposits and financial record management
  • Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable resource for building activities and staff, providing timely support with courteous, service-oriented approach
  • Support and help promote Community Education aquatics and childcare programs

Qualifications 

  • Associates Degree in Recreation, Education Leisure services or similar degree
  • Knowledge of the use of standard office equipment including copiers, computers, phones
  • Technology and computer skills including data compilation, basic bookkeeping skills, Microsoft and Google products as well as Canva
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise written materials
  • Experience in public speaking and/or has the ability to speak in front of groups
  • Maintains effective working relationships with others, including employees, program participants, community organizations, and the public
  • History working with children, older adults, parents, community members, and/or school staff
  • Experience working with a diverse population
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, manage and accomplish department goals
  • Willingness to obtain first aid, CPR, and other related certifications and/or training

Salary/Salary Range 
$18.19+/hour
